The Others and Stealing Beauty.
Among the movie clips seen, we will focus on “The Others" and "stealing Beautiful”. For each of them we will describe the actions and colors that will be used to create the clip mosaic.
In the “The Others”, there are many attractive things that are happening in a red cayenne but also very dark room where it is pretty impossible to see something. The inside is weakly lightened by the electric lamp that a woman, followed by another woman and a man, holds in her hands. One feels it is a mysterious place where nothing is distinguishable and where a strange event is happening. The women and the man are blindly scared, unsure of what to expect. In the darkness, one can barely see their blue teal clothes. Then ,a horrible voice tears the silence in the room and suddenly two children, wearing long dresses in purple orchid appear in front of the group, standing there looking like twins. The group of man and women exchanges greetings with the kids and tries to be friendly and interested in them. They then asked the old woman in a desperate voice to be their nanny. The others, who attend the astonishing scene, stare innocently and speechlessly at the ongoing situation, expecting something from it. For the mosaic, the teal color will be used as the background to represent the feelings of loneliness and fright in which the characters live. But we see a woman who is determined to take the situation in hands. She will be represented in spindrift blue, standing between the childlike picture representing the character in threat and a multicolor image, representing the ambiguity of the situation, dangerous for the kids.
In the movie “Stealing Beauty”, the natural beauty of the landscape is the most represented and is basically green. It seems that it is summer when trees and grass turns into deep green and have flowers. A lady, wearing red maraschino dress is driving through a mountain on a tarred road leading to the countryside .It is barely inhabited and the monotony of the vegetation is at times interrupted by a few houses. She feels really excited and comfortable driving in her car at the same time listening to wonderful and extremely emotional music that flows through the air.
For the mosaic, green leaf pieces will be used all around to represent the natural landscape while in the middle, a brightly red colored heart representation will be used to symbolize the passion and the excitement in the movie. Altogether, the green and the red will serve to reflect the beautiful, youthful, and excited life in the movie.
To summarize, we see how the colors, voices, actions are combined to create a wonderful and symbiotic scenes to make the characters' world incredibly attractive. Therefore interestingly, different colors are used in the mosaics to reflect the scenes in the clips.
